FOWLER’S GROUP MARLIN COAST SECONDARY SCHOOLS NETBALL CARNIVAL

Congratulations to the following students who competed in the Marlin Coast Secondary Schools Netball Carnival at the end of Term 3.

The St Mary’s teams played exceptionally well on the day. Both the senior and junior netball teams came first in their pools and progressed to the finals. Again both teams won all their finals and took out the top spot in school netball for the region. This was the senior teams third consecutive year of winning the regional rounds.  Congratulations to all involved.

Thank you to Miss Kate Atwell, Mrs Bec Gibney, Kayla Hunt, Latisha Peverell and parent helpers, Stuart Wright, Michelle Hodge and Ruth Massingham for assisting throughout the day.

VICKI WILSON STATE NETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

For the 3rd year in a row St Mary’s made it to the Vicki Wilson Schools State Netball Championships in Brisbane. We were placed in a very competitive pool and played some tough, hard games, playing seven games over two days. All girls learnt a lot through the experience and gained valuable court and game skills. We were very lucky to attend these champs under the circumstances 2020 brought.

Year 11 - Shanan Ngunz, Zali Norsworthy, Gabrielle Carr, Laneekah Saltner-Garrett, Patricia Fa'anana

Year 10 - Paige Wood

Year 9 - Caitlin Jackson

We would like to thank the St Mary’s Community Connect (P & F) for their continued support of netball within the school. Also, thank you to everyone at Lane Orthodontics who have sponsored the team for the second year in a row and provided water bottles to everyone in the team. Lastly, thank you to team scorer Laura May, as well as all the students and parents involved.
