STEM and Kitchen Garden

Years 5 and 6 students have been working on their Engineering project with the team from Fulton Hogan. This included an excursion to the site of the Glenfern Water Storage facility in Romsey. Students observed the construction of the new tanks.

Foundation,  year one and two students investigated forces and simple machines (ramps).

Years three and four worked to design Rube Goldberg machines.

In the kitchen Foundation grades finished their bread unit by making flat breads pizzas.

Years 1 and 2 students from 1/2LJ finished their potato unit with sweet potato cupcakes and Bombay potatoes.

Years 3 and four started their milk unit by making ricotta and labneh. This involved heating the milk to 85 degrees Celsius (using a digital thermometer) and watching the acid protein reaction to form the cheese curds.
