Term 1
In Rees House, I3 has been buzzing over the past week, with half of our Year 9 students coming through our doors to partake in a personalised, one-on-one pathways conversation with a careers counsellor. It’s been fantastic hearing students talk about their results, subject suggestions and the possible electives they may be interested in doing over the next few years, as well as hearing some interesting career suggestions! We know that students have been discussing their results amongst themselves, and their classroom teachers have also reported that students are chatting about their results with them. We hope that students have brought the same enthusiasm home!
It’s important that students remember that these results are not prescriptive – whatever Morrisby has suggested as your 99% match does not need to be your life choice. However, we are certain that this process and these conversations have given students a good starting point and some valuable things to think about as we move into subject selection next term.
Another round of Morrisby interviews will take place in Week 9 of this term (Monday 19 – 23 June). Bookings will be open on Compass in the next week or so – students need to keep an eye on Teams for an announcement.
We have opened up bookings on Compass for Year 12 students to make an appointment with us for a pathways conversation. Term 3 is incredibly busy as VTAC opens up and students begin to prepare for their exams, so we encourage students to book an appointment early to get the conversation started. Please make sure you book during a study period, recess or lunch.
