FROM THE OFFICE

Have you submitted your CSEF application? Time is running out!

Camps, Sports & Excursions Funds application forms cannot be accepted after Friday, 23rd June.  This is the last day of this term.  If the office does not receive your form by the morning of that day, we will not be able to process your application.  If you are not sure if you are eligible for the funding, or if you want to check if you have already applied, please contact the office and we will be able to help you.

Does your child have spare clothes packed?

With the winter months, we are finding a number of children visiting first aid requesting a change of clothes after getting wet, or muddy.  Unfortunately, the supply of spare clothing is low, and we are not able to help students making this request.  Please pack some spare items for your child/ren so they are able to change and be comfortable.

They're Back ........

Through First Aid, we have noted that there have been a few students presenting with head lice.  Head lice are a common problem in schools, and they can make people feel very itchy and uncomfortable.  Head lice, or nits, move from person to person through head to head contact with someone who has them.  One way to help minimise head lice transmission is for students to have their hair tied up.  If you child/ren has hair that is long enough to tie up, please make sure this is done.  If your child does get head lice, please visit a chemist and pick up a treatment for your child's hair.  Children can return to school the day after their hair has been treated.

Prep Enrolments for 2024

Do you have a child at home who is going to start school next year?  If you have a child who is already 5, or will turn 5 before April 30, 2024, then they can start school next year.  If you need to enrol your child, please visit the office and talk to Kate at reception who will provide you with all the enrolment documents you need, and book you in for an information session.

FROM THE LIBRARY

Many of our families - and all of our students - will know Chris.

Chris has worked at the school for 20 years, with numerous of those years seeing Chris working in the library.  Chris has worked tirelessly in building the resources in the library, to such a point that there are now 26,400 titles available for students borrow.

After all these years, and all the hard work, Chris has decided it is time to hang up her lanyard, stop scanning books, and enjoy more time with her family and friends.

Chris will be retiring at the end of this term, leaving big shoes to be filled in the Education Support area.

The team at Roxy will definitely miss Chris, but we wish her all the very best in her retirement.  May she find herself in the company of Dick van Dyke, who once said "To me, retirement means doing what you have fun doing."

Go well Chris.

A Word From Chris

I would like to add a big thankyou to all the parents, students and teachers who I have had the fortune to get to know over the time that I have been at Roxburgh Park Primary School. Over the almost 20 years, parents have assisted me with shelving and tidying and covering books. I have been most grateful.

Thank you to all the parents who have assisted with Woolies Earn & Learn, Premier's Reading Challenge and above all supporting and purchasing books from Book Club and Book Fairs. Ms Polazzon has kindly agreed to continue with Book Club and Book Fair this year so please continue to support these events.

It is with much sadness that I leave, I consider myself extremely fortunate to have been able to grow a library for all our students to enjoy and it has been absolutely fulfilling for me too.

"You can find magic wherever you look, sit back and relax all you need is a book."  Seuss

Love from

Chris

FROM THE CANTEEN

At Roxy, we are very lucky to have a wonderful canteen that supplies yummy meals for students.  However, as anyone who shops for food knows, the costs of purchasing produce has increased markedly.

As a result, Sue has found she has no choice but to increase the cost of items from the canteen.  These increases will take place from the start of next term.

A copy of the canteen menu, with a price listing, is attached to help you with future orders.
