Brooke's Message
Friday 9th June
Dear Parents/Carers,
Every year between 27 May to 3 June we celebrate Reconciliation Week – This year the theme is ‘Be a Voice for Generations’ and the hope is to shine and light and encourage all Australians to continue to take action for change for the work of generations past, and the benefit of generations future. The aim is to act now and create a more just, equitable and reconciled country for all.
As part of our celebrations, we asked our staff and students to dress in yellow and everyone entered into the spirit of the occasion.
Please find below the video we created to celebrate Bunji, who has now been working at MSS for 12 months, we hope you enjoy.
Don’t forget you can also follow Bunji on Instagram #bunjithewonderdog
As you will already have noticed there has been an increased police presence during our drop off and pick up times.
I would ask you to please remember not to line up and double park outside Gate 1. We understand that at times this is frustrating, and you may have to do a loop, and this is why we ask that parents and carers do not arrive before 8.55 a.m.
We have been in discussion with the local council, and they have suggested certain options that may help improve the traffic flow. As these suggestions reach a point of implementation, we will of course let you know.
Some of you may be wondering why we are not flying the Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Australian flags at the front of the school. Unfortunately, our flag poles are in need of some maintenance which I am glad to confirm is booked in later this month.
Once this has been completed, our flags will once again be on display.
Best wishes,
Brooke
