Principal's report

Mr Shaun McClare

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung People of the Kulin nation; past, present and those who will walk with us into the future.

We acknowledge the rich and unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waters and seas, educational practices and the hopes of all First Nations Peoples. We do this in the spirit of reconciliation as we move to a place of justice and partnership - together we work, learn, play and care for one another and this land.

Thank you to our volunteers

Two weeks ago was Volunteers Week in Australia and it has made me think about the amazing contribution that volunteers make to our school at Kalinda. Whether attending school working bees, joining School Council,  helping out at sports events, or joining the P&F to help run school events and fundraising, you all make an incredible contribution to our school.

As well as the direct contribution you make to improving our school, research shows us that when parents get involved with the school it has a positive impact on student engagement. I also know that it is a great way to make connections with other parents and can be lots of fun as well.

At Kalinda we view ourselves as a community, this includes students, staff, parents, and grandparents. Taking the time to volunteer is so greatly appreciated and without volunteers, events such as the Mother's Day Stall and the Colour Run are not possible.

Thank you to those who continue to volunteer to support the students of Kalinda, and if you have not had the time or chance to volunteer before, please don't hesitate to put your hand up next time the P&F put a call out for volunteers or a call goes out for Working Bee volunteers.

Enrolling for 2024

We have been having a lot of families come through the school for tours this term. If you are an existing family with a younger child starting school next year or you are a new family to the school, we are accepting enrolments now.

Please follow this link for a school enrolment form, or pop into our office to pick up a hard copy.

School Tours are open now. Tours can be booked via this link.
