VOCABULARY

Predictions: A well informed guess about what will happen next or in the future of a text.

Genre: The type of text which is being read, non-fiction, fiction, folklore, drama or poetry.

With your student, pick a short non-fiction text and look at the front cover. Based on the title and cover images, what predictions can you make?

If you read the first part of the text, can you make any better informed predictions using information you know about the genre of the text?
