We are learning to infer character traits/feelings


VOCABULARY

Infer: make a well informed guess.

 

Traits: a combination of the different qualities that define a character, such as thoughts, feelings, personality, and the choices they make.

 

Feelings: something that we feel from within or inside ourselves.

 

Verbs: a main part of speech that is often used to describe or indicate an action.

 

Vivid: is an adjective that describes a bold and bright colour, an intense feeling, or an image in your mind that is so clear you can almost touch it.


ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Read a fiction book (from your satchel or a different book you have at home) and make a list of vivid verbs you find. 

 

Write about how you think the character is feeling based on the verbs used to describe what is happening in the text.
