International House | The University of Melbourne

International House is still open and supporting students. They currently have close to 200 students staying at International House while studying at the University of Melbourne, Monash University (Parkville campus), RMIT and ACU.

 

International House have scholarships available to ease the financial burden of moving away from home. If you apply to International House and are unable to attend university due to COVID-19 restrictions, all funds paid will be refunded.   

 

I encourage you to apply for scholarships:

  • Commerce at International House: Full fee, one-year accommodation scholarship (Australian students studying business and economics)
  • Friends and Alumni of International House: $14000, one-year accommodation fee scholarship.
  • 2022 International House: $7000, one-year accommodation fee scholarship.
  • Weickhardt Academic Performance: $7000, one-year accommodation fee scholarship (Australian students)

Undergraduate students have individual furnished rooms with all utilities included.

 

International House provides academic support (tutorials, consultations, academic and employability seminars, free textbooks and free printing from our in-house library) and extensive wellbeings programs promoting physical and mental health. These programs will help students achieve academically and personally. 

 

Student clubs run a variety of social and cultural events throughout the year. Students can also participate in intercollegiate events with other colleges.

 

Students can take up leadership and volunteering opportunities to develop skills sets and employability for the future. They can also reach out to our global alumni network for advices.

 

There are recreational facilities including music rooms and design studios for students to study or practice their hobbies. We have TV and games room for entertainment. We also have an in-house gym, a multipurpose court and sporting clubs for students to exercise or learn a new sport.

 

International House belongs to the University of Melbourne and is part of the Melbourne Accommodation Guarantee. If students apply directly to International House through our website, there is no application fee, no interview and no reference letter required.

 

International House accepts students studying at the University of Melbourne, Monash University (Parkville and CBD campus), RMIT and ACU.

Journal Student Living

Located in both Leicester Street and Swanston Streets Carlton, Journal Life is a community life program, designed to introduce students to each other, university life and the city of Melbourne.
