Dear St Therese's Families,

I have exciting news! The new admin block will be ready for us to move back in next week! In these uncertain and challenging times, I am so grateful for this building project and seeing the beautiful spaces taking shape.

In even more exciting news, Stage 2 of the Master Plan was approved and we will begin that building project in the next fortnight. This means that we will have two Learning Neighbourhoods completed by early in 2022.

Building projects, while fantastic, do have a downside while they are in process. Temporary fencing is used to block off sections of the school that are affected by the building project. As Stage 2 is next to the library we will lose the Senior Soccer field for the duration of the project. At the end of the project, we will reclaim our soccer field and have beautifully renovated and new classrooms!

As students return to the classroom the following areas are being used as classrooms while the building project is underway.

  • Foundation and Year 1 are using the Library
  • Year 2 are using the Community Hub and Chapel area
  • Year 3 and 4 will remain in their existing classrooms
  • Senior students will use the Hall

STAGGERED RETURN TO SCHOOL

From next week, Foundation students will return to school on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and Year 1 and 2 students will return on Thursday and Friday.  I am so happy to welcome our Junior School back to school next week. It won't be long before all students will resume.

Onsite supervision for other students who meet the government requirement outlined below may continue to book in using the Operoo form for Week 3. The form will close on Sunday 17th October at 5pm.

Attached is the letter that was sent out today with all the organisational details of the return to school for Week 3.

Please note the return to the staggered drop-off and pick-up procedure. We kindly ask that parents stay at their cars rather than congregating at the gates.

  • Students with surnames beginning with A-K will need to use the Endeavour Drive pedestrian gate
  • Students with surnames beginning with L-Z will need to use the Mitchell Court gate
  • Before/After School students will use the Merinda Park gate

FACE MASKS

Yesterday, I sent a letter to parents regarding the mandatory use of face masks for primary school children.

Attached is an updated letter that outlines this requirement.

I appreciate that this continues to be a challenging time for all and I thank all our parents, guardians, carers and the wider school community for their continued hard work and support.

Have a terrific week.
