Junior debating

On Monday 8 November, six year 8 students from Mentone campus represented St Bede's in the ACC junior debating competition. They were winners of the division 2 competition overall, coming away undefeated from their three debates on the day.  Congratulations to Harrison McCawley, Tomas Polintan, Jack Weavers, Ben Hall, Patrick Joubran and Tommy James for their efforts. 

Students debated whether smoking should be banned in public places, whether parents should have access to their children's social media accounts and whether zoos should be banned - a diverse range of topics that we're an engaging challenge for this group of students. 

Well done to these students who worked together as a productive team and gave their best effort - special congratulations to Ben and Tomas for being announced as Best Speaker in two of the debates.
