Performing Arts

Welcome back for our final term of 2021. I hope everyone had a wonderful and restful break over the holidays! We are jumping head first into all things Shrek the Musical Jr this term so be prepared for lots of singing, dancing and acting!

By now, all students should have learnt both of their class songs. This week we have begun learning the whole school finale song ‘I’m A Believer’. Once we are back onsite the students will be working with costumes, props, set pieces and more so please continue to encourage the students to practice all of their dances and songs at home.

Online Shrek Jr. rehearsals have commenced again this week and the students are showing great progress and commitment to their characters!

An update to those parents who have been helping source and make costumes… Please continue to email me any questions or queries you have. If costumes are complete or ready to be dropped at school, send me an email and we can organise a suitable time to do so. I greatly appreciate everything you are doing, I would be lost without you!

CHOIR

The students worked extremely hard last term during Choir and we managed to produce an online video of the students singing ‘Let It Be’ by The Beatles. Here is the link to the video if you missed it.

Let It Be- St James Choir

This term we have already begun learning some more songs with the hope of performing this time face to face once we are back onsite. The commitment from these students who attend every Wednesday at 2pm is incredible and I feel so lucky to be able to work with them even if it is through a screen.

Keep an eye out for more information about our production of Shrek the Musical Jr. in the upcoming weeks.

Kindest regards,
