Principal's Update

As term 3 draws to a close, I would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone for their ongoing support over the last 10 weeks.  Although this term has provided more than its fair share of challenges and disruptions, the combined effort from staff and families has ensured a continued focus on student learning.

I would particularly like to acknowledge and thank our classroom teachers, CRTS, education support and OSHC staff for their tireless dedication and commitment to supporting our students on and offsite throughout remote learning.  I’ve no doubt, everyone is looking forward to the break, and hope that we will be able to make a full return to face-to-face teaching in term 4.

OSHC, of course, will run throughout the holidays.  As the current restrictions will continue to apply, students currently enrolled in OSHC who are in Prep-2 or who meet the eligibility criteria as children of Essential Workers and/or vulnerable status, may attend.  This holiday the program will be based around the theme of Spring.

A big thank you also to the Red Cross ladies for their ongoing support with providing the breakfast program this term and to the volunteers from the Neighbourhood Centre for their provision of canteen services.  With so many changes, the continuation of these services has been welcomed by students and greatly appreciated.

From next week, the Mount Beauty Medical Centre will be offering COVID vaccinations to students over the age of 12 will be able to receive a COVID vaccine from the Mount Beauty Medical Centre.  If you would like to have your child immunised, please contact the centre on 57543400.  I have attached the consent form that will need to be completed and signed by the parent and bought to the appointment.

Unfortunately, due to the current Covid-19 lock downs, the upcoming Dental Van visit to our school has had to be postponed for 2021. This is now rescheduled for the Week of February 28th in 2022.  More information will be provided in Term 1 next year, together with new consent forms.

Please note that for students who are attending onsite, tomorrow we will be celebrating the end of the school term with an (optional) Football Colours Day.  Students are encouraged to come dressed in their favourite team colours (no football boots please).  A reminder also that school will finish tomorrow, the 17th of September, at the earlier time of 2.20pm.

Wishing you all a safe and happy holiday.  We look forward to seeing you again next term!
