Principal Report

It has been wonderful to welcome students back to classes with their teachers this week and we look forward to November 5th when we will all be onsite together. I want to say a huge thank you to you all for your support and understanding throughout this challenging time. I am sure you will join with me to congratulate and thank the staff for their work as well. We have worked so well as a community.

Below is the schedule for returning to school:

Masks

Masks have been now made mandatory for students in Years 3-6 when they are inside at school. We encourage you to ensure your children have practiced wearing their masks so they feel as comfortable as they can.

The Department of Education guidelines state:

Face masks will now be mandatory for all school students in Grade 3 and above when indoors including at Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) programs unless a lawful exception applies. Face masks can be removed while outdoors at primary schools.

Please contact the office if you would like to discuss this further.

Facilities

Retrofitting has begun in Ngargna. The wood work and metal work facilities are being installed. The lockers have also been fitted. It is nearly ready for our Year 7 students next year. Our new buildings are near completion as are the playgrounds and the landscaping. We are looking forward to being able to show you the fantastic grounds and facilities that the students of DCC will be using next year.

End of Year Concert

Alison and Robert will be working with your children to prepare for our end of year concert in the coming weeks during performing arts. Stay tuned for more information.

Camp

Unfortunately we will be unable to run our Year 3-6 camp this year but the staff are working to make other arrangements for the students and will share those arrangements later in the term.
