Welcome back to everyone for the remainder of term 4!  I'm so excited to see everyone in person and make amazing creations together once more. While you've been away I got my creative juices flowing with some painting to brighten up some spaces. Some of you may have already noticed Mr Kitch's new door but may have missed the other additions. For me, painting is a great way to help me relax and look after my wellbeing. It's important to find something that you love to do, be it painting, reading, running or something else. I encourage you to make time for the things you love and relax.

An Overview of our Learning

I've had so much fun looking at all the art being done while we were in remote learning. So many amazing miniature art galleries on display for their toys, creative portraits and paper folding skills. Thank you for all your hard work.

Term Four began with us exploring cars of the future by creating artworks for the Toyota Dream Car Competition. This is an opportunity for students to dream up some fun and innovative ideas for how we may get from place to place while helping people and the environment. Students combined all sorts of animals with a car to make fun and creative modes of transportation.

It's been fantastic seeing all the creative art galleries assembled in remote learning and the variety of audience members viewing your work. I especially enjoyed looking at all the spring flower portraits students created and the beautiful flowers blooming in people's gardens.

The rest of the term will see us continue where we left off, exploring form and getting messy with papier-mâché to created hot air balloons.

Remote learning students looked at the work of Rudy Willingham and his cut out photo montages. Students made their own cut out silhouette and explored different textures in the world around them to photograph. It was such a pleasure to be able to edit them all together to share with the students this week.

On our return to school students continued to develop their design skills by creating a car of the future to enter into the Toyota Dream Car contest. Students have been thinking up all sorts of wacky ideas of ways we might get from place to place in the future but also making sure they are helping people and our environment.

Remote learning saw the students focus on everything to do with movement in art, be it the artist moving, the artwork moving or the process of making animation. It's been so wonderful to see all their amazing ideas coming to life. I had so much watching all of their creative and unique animations.

Moving forward we will be continuing where we left off, exploring form and texture with a variety of projects.
