Principal's Message
Mr Forrest
As I previously mentioned "the chopping and changing has caused grief, anxiety and frustration, however I hope you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am still waiting for confirmation towards the rules, regulations and exemptions around face masks for students but I will forward the information onto you as soon as possible".
Well, as of today we received official notification which will allow us to run a few more activities with our students. We will aim to try and keep everyone as up to date as possible. Face masks will be staying around into the foreseeable future.
School Camps
I am happy to announce that the School Camps for Years 7/8, and Grades 3/4 have been rebooked for Wednesday 10th November until Friday 12th November. We will send more information out tomorrow (Friday) when the finer details have been confirmed. Both groups will be sharing the same venue, however completing different activities.
Prep to Year 2 Special Event
On Thursday 18th November all Year Prep - Year 2 students will be invited to a special event after school including a BBQ tea, and Disco. The following day, Friday 19th November, Year 2 students will be invited on a local excursion. All details will be sent home shortly.
Our scheduled Curriculum Day for 1st November has been cancelled. It is not fair to have students return after remote learning and then have an extra long weekend. Just know, 2nd November is Melbourne Cup Public holiday which will be for everybody. I do fully understand if parents decide to take the extra day to make it an extended long weekend before a busy finish to the year, I know I would if I could.
The school will be running a normal program Monday with the exception of 3B when Mr Forrest and Mr Lockhart will be conducting a special JACKA versus ANSETT event.
The Deb Ball has been 'off again and on again', so it is pleasing to announce that it will take place on Friday 26th of November.
Please understand we will be operating under strict COVID and Health Guidelines, therefore entry to the Deb Ball will be managed accordingly i.e. QR coding, proof of full vaccinations.
As per DET rules announced today, after November 1st: School events, gatherings, and Assembly's can resume, however they must align with community settings.
If you cannot comply with these rules you can have your ticket fully refunded.
Well done to the Year 12 students who had fun on their last formal day of classes at Wedderburn College over a week ago. Thanks to the Prep students for walking the Year12 students into their last Assembly.
All mess was cleaned up after some funny pranks played out. After which, students joined staff for a special celebration Morning Tea in their honour. This was followed by a relaxing luncheon together to conclude the day.
We wish all Year 12 students all the very best with their final exams and assessments. Thanks to Mrs Barker and Mrs Woodman for putting together the program for the day and supporting the students throughout the year.
