Principal's Report

Mr Gerard Raven

Dear families,

Since the last newsletter, St Brigid’s has completed the external audit element of our School Review and Strategic Plan process and I am keen to share the final report to the community when it arrives in the next few weeks. I would like to thank everyone who is involved in this process as we will use this information to set a clear direction for St Brigid’s over the next five years.

Next week is the final week of the term and the warm weather is near. To conclude the term, classes will finish at 2:30pm and students are permitted to wear their sporting colours to celebrate the finals for the winter sports. I wish all students and staff playing in finals this weekend and the next all the very best, and I congratulate the numerous students who have won local Best and Fairest awards this month (see further down).

On Wednesday we celebrated the St Vincent de Paul Gifting Liturgy and it was wonderful to welcome Fr Matt Restall to our school to lead this. We were joined by the students and staff of St Michael and St John’s Primary school and it was so pleasing to see the generosity of our communities in living the Gospel values and sharing the Good News.

Our planning for 2023 is nearing completion and there is an excitement around the programs we can offer and the new staff we are in the process of appointing (watch this space!!). St Brigid’s continues to bat well above our average.

Today our flag is flying at half mast in recognition of the passing of our monarch, Queen Elizabeth II. It is a mighty effort to be the head of state across the Commonwealth for around 70 years and we recognise the stability her reign has brought to many nations.

Stay safe

Gerard Raven
