Gaining insights into career pathways in Design

Having Daniel Noviello come to our school to give a presentation about Autodesk and his career for my Digital Design class was quite interesting, I learnt new things about what Autodesk is and how a career can change easily. I found it inspiring about how Daniel had started out as an engineer in the Aerospace and Space industries before changing to Autodesk but still being able to keep and use his skills in design and simulation. Now I’ve learnt that I can pursue whatever I desire and be able to use the skills I know for a large range of careers allows me to focus on perfecting these skills, besides focusing on a career itself as I know that the career that I set on now could be different than the one I eventually finish with.

Dan Noviello is a Research Manager based in London, UK. Dan leads the Smart Design team, part of the Manufacturing Industry Futures group. Dan has a strong background in design and simulation thanks to several years as an engineer in the Aerospace and Space Industries. Dan now focuses on technology to help people design in more sustainable, efficient, cheaper and rewarding ways.
