Food sustainability and preservation techniques

 

In year 10 Café Culture - Food Studies, we have been learning about food  sustainability and using foods when in season, plentiful and at the lowest cost to consumers and preservation techniques to increase their life. Recently we did a practical where we cooked Devonshire Tea, which consist of scones with jam and cream. During that production we made mixed berry jam from scratch, as well as constructing a label for our jar. The label had certain criteria to make it compliant with FSANZ and had to be almost identical to a label you would find in a supermarket. Here are some examples of our work.
