Tennis

After two weeks of cancelled games, it was finally time to get back out on court for Round 6 of fixtures against St. Aidan’s.  However, once again there were several students unable to play due to sickness, which resulted in Clayfield having to forfeit games in the Opens and Senior A teams. Our tennis players should be proud because it was still a close match for all three teams with the Opens losing 33-11. The Senior A team recorded a loss also 32-14, however still giving it their best shot. The Juniors had their most successful round yet but still recorded a loss 35-13. This week is a home game against Brisbane Girls Grammar which will lift the girl’s spirits and energy for Round 7.

Volleyball

Round 6 of QGSSSA Volleyball season versus St Aidan’s saw many of our teams come home victorious. There were some fierce battles throughout the Year 7 and Year 8 teams with both winning 2 sets to one. Their games featured some exciting rallies, seeing our spectators cheering. Our strong serving ultimately secured the win for our players.

The Senior A team recorded a 3-0 win, their second win of the season. Great job girls!

The Opens team, after losing the first set, came back to win the next three sets, taking the game 3-1. As the game progressed, the serving and energy was unrivalled and resulted in fantastic results for the team. Unfortunately, the Year 9 team lost 0-3. All teams will be training hard this week in preparation for Round 7 against Brisbane Girl’s Grammar. Go Clayfield!
