We have a huge selection of fabulous gifts for the students to choose from! We are sure they will find something perfect for their dads, grandads, uncles, carers and loved ones at the stall. There are gifts for green thumbs and dog lovers, BBQ bosses and camping enthusiasts, sudoku smarties and sports-mad Dads. We’ve got caps, ties, stationery and bath packs – and everything in between!

Gifts are priced at $5, $10 and $15 and all funds raised will go towards the Friends of Primary and P&F initiatives. Primary Students will be taken to the Stall during the day by their teachers and will have their teachers and parent volunteers to help them with their shopping.

Students are to bring shopping money to school in a named envelope which will be collected by their class teacher at the start of the day. They will be handed back to the student when attending the Stall and any change will be returned for safekeeping. Children will take their change and gifts home at the end of the day.

Looking Back in Primary

Book Parade and Author Visit

On Tuesday, the Primary school celebrated book week 2022, “Dreaming with eyes open”, by coming dressed as their favourite book character. We were treated to a visit from a famous author named Cori Brooke, who shared some of her books. She entertained us with her many hats and stories of her inspiration and how her characters transformed. Cori spoke to Year 5 and 6 about the importance of editing their work and the process behind publishing. The students had some great questions for Cori, including ‘what happens if you as the author don’t like the pictures drawn by the illustrator?’

We also enjoyed seeing all the wonderful costumes worn by the students for our book character parade in the Assembly Hall. Amongst the many favourite books on display were a few Harrys and Hermiones from Harry Potter, a sprinkling of characters from Star Wars, Minecraft and Marvel, and the odd Gruffalo or Gangsta Granny. Also represented were some non-fiction personalities from favourite books about sporting legends.

All Girls’ Maths Tournament

On Monday 22 August, select students from Years 6 and 7 participated in the All Girls’ Maths tournament hosted by All Hallows’ School. There were 33 teams that participated in the tournament. The tournament comprised of two parts. The first event was a team challenge where each team had 45 minutes to answers 12 problem solving questions. The second event was a team relay, which was a balance of managing time and working in pairs within the team. Students had to answer 20 questions in this section. All three teams enjoyed the day and found the combination of challenge and teamwork fun to be a part of.
