Careers @ Clayfield
We are currently recruiting for the following positions:
Uniform Shop Manager
College Uniform Shop
Please be advised that the College Shop will be opening on Tuesday and Thursdays from 22/8/2022. The shop will be open from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm and 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm.
Parking Around The College
Drop Off Areas
Please note the White Sands Carpark (Sandgate Road) is not a drop-off area for students. Visitors, contractors and staff attending the college use this carpark and drivers entering are not expecting to encounter children. This is an unsafe location for children to be walking. Please ensure you drop off and pick up in the designated areas.
The best places to drop and pick your child up is along Gregory Street (Gates 1 and 2) or along Bayview Terrace (Gates 4, 5 and 6). https://www.clayfield.qld.edu.au/the-essentials/college-map
Please be mindful that if you are parking on these streets, you abide by the road rules, as we have had several complaints from our neighbours regarding parents' parking.
Please adhere to the following:
Don't Block Driveways
You must not park on or across a driveway or prevent access to a property. This restricts pedestrian access and can reduce visibility for other road users.
Restricting Waste Collection
Do not park in front of household rubbish bins. You must leave at least three metres of clear roadway beside your vehicle. This allows large vehicles, such as waste trucks to access local streets.
Double Parking
A driver must not stop a vehicle so that any portion of the vehicle is between any other stationary vehicle and the centre of the road.
Unlawful parking in school areas is a major safety hazard that poses a risk to children, pedestrians and other road users. Please do not stop in areas that are defined by signage or a continuous yellow line painted along the edge of a road.
COVID-19 FAQ - Close Contacts
What do I do if I am a close contact and do not have symptoms of COVID-19?
You should monitor for symptoms for 7 days from the last time someone in your household tested positive for COVID-19.
If you remain symptom-free, you can leave your home for any reason.
While you are a close contact you must:
- wear a face mask at all times when outside the home
- not visit vulnerable settings, such as hospitals, aged care and disability facilities, unless in exceptional or compassionate circumstances (for example, end of life visits)
It is also recommended that you:
- test for COVID-19 if you develop symptoms
- avoid large gatherings or crowded indoor events
- work or study from home if you can.
If a close contact is leaving home, it is recommended that they undertake regular testing (such as on day 0, 2, 4, 6).
If you have had COVID-19 in the previous 12 weeks, you are not required to do the close contact testing, unless advised to do so by your medical practitioner.
Can I go to work or school while I am a close contact?
If you have COVID-19 symptoms, stay at home until the symptoms resolve and do not attend work or school.
If you do not have any symptoms and are unable to work or study from home, notify your employer or educational setting before you return. You will have to comply with any additional requirements set by your workplace or educational setting.
Clayfield College Requirements for Close Contacts
All children who attend school whilst they are a close contact must wear a face mask. All parents/caregivers/family members who are close contacts must wear a mask when on the Campus.
College App
The College app can be downloaded from the Apple or Google Play stores - search for “Clayfield College”. The app is very important to download as this is our instant communication method to all parents/caregivers and students.
In the event of wet or extreme weather, any cancellations of co-curricular activities, sports training or matches, upcoming events will be communicated through the College app. Please check this regularly if poor weather looks imminent.
Sustainable School Shop
The College has been looking at ways to efficiently buy and sell second-hand textbooks, uniforms, and other student resources.
We are delighted to announce that the College has teamed up with Sustainable School Shop, allowing parents/caregivers to easily trade these second-hand items. Previously the College Shop would accept some second-hand items, this will now cease, and all items are requested to go via Sustainable School Shop.
Results from other schools have been excellent - families have enjoyed a very comprehensive and convenient method of buying and selling second-hand items.
The new service is very accessible; it preferences our school first and then provides access to buy and sell items with families attending other schools broadening the reach for trading goods. Many schools use this service. Access to second-hand textbooks, uniforms and other resources is available all year. For the best results:
- Register on the Sustainable School Shop website and nominate Clayfield College
- A subscription to the service will be provided to you
- List your items for sale
- List wanted ads for those items you are looking to buy
- The school’s uniform and book lists are loaded into the system to make listing ads easy
- The system matches the ads of buyers with sellers and notifies the buyer via email
- Buyers contact sellers and arrange where and when to trade
- Most trading will occur with other parents from our school
- Parents are well supported via Sustainable School Shop’s telephone (0438 743 444) and email helplines
- The system is simple and easy to use - If you don’t have a computer, internet access or an email address, please call the Sustainable School Shop for assistance
- You can pre-arrange the transaction and then trade after the texts are no longer required by the current student.
Clayfield College is providing this service, so there is no cost for families. Each family that registers on the Sustainable School Shop will be given a subscription.
We are very excited about this new initiative, and we hope you will make the most of this opportunity and gain the benefit from recycling your children’s school items while at the same time helping other families within our College community.
