Principal Report

Dear families,

The newsletter is late to be issued this week. This is my fault. A slight delay has turned into a a rather large delay. I would like to share an apology if some of the items are now out of date.

The tragic news this week regarding one of our families has had a big impact on our community, our children and our staff.

No one will be feeling this more than the family impacted, the two children, their loved ones, and their close friends. On behalf of Rolling Hills Primary school I am sending them all our love and prayers as they move through this difficult time.

I know we all wish the children well in their ongoing recovery, as well as the rest of the family. I can share today that the latest news is the children have turned a corner and they are improving.

At times like this people want to help and support. The focus for the family in the short term is the immediate health and wellbeing of the children.

If you do wish to help, a page has been set up by friends, to help the family. I am happy to share this with you today.

Moving forward please continue to respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time.

Please stick to the facts when sharing information with children and refrain from speculation. Think hard before you post on social media, those words while well intended, can often lead to further upset and anguish for people.

Today is R U OK DAY? and I urge every one of you to reach out if you need support. There are lots of resources that you can share and discuss with your child about today and most importantly - AFTER today.

A conversation could change a life | R U OK?

And in addition, here are some other resources.

Wishing everyone the very best over the coming days.
