Uniform Reminders

As we start to approach the end of the  winter months could I remind all our families that our uniform shop is open on both Wednesdays and Fridays during the normal operating hours if you need to purchase any items for Term 4 and the return to the summer uniform. Our new school pants have been a very popular item across all year levels.

We remind all of our families and students about other expectations that we have in relation to our uniform. These include:

  • Only wearing Health and PE uniform on the days of practical classes
  • Hoodies are not part of the school uniform
  • The most outer item to be worn to and from school is the school blazer
  • The school tie is a compulsory item with the winter uniform
  • Nails and facial piercings are not part of the uniform expectations

If you have, any concerns in relation to uniform please contact your daughter’s homeroom/mentor teacher or Year Level Leader to assist you.

Student Leadership Process for 2023 begins.

Over the next couple of weeks we will begin the process of organising our Student Leadership team for 2023. We will have a Leadership Day towards the end of this term or beginning of next term in order to prepare for our future Student Leaders – Lamp Bearers, Student Representative Council, Student Participation Group and House Captains.

We have 24 students who have submitted their Leadership Booklet and who will be part of the process moving forward.

Concerns about Vaping

As previously mentioned in the Marian News we continue to be concerned about the literature and information that is regularly appearing in the newspapers and journals about the long-term effects of VAPING on our young people.

We will continue to monitor this issue now that we have the detectors in each of our toilets We aim to have an information evening on this topic either later this year or early next year.

Planning on the Wellbeing Program for 2022 begins

Our Staff Professional Learning Day held on Friday 12 August was allocated to the development of our Wellbeing program for 2022.

For Years 7, 8, 11 & 12 this focused on enhancing the current program and linking to our four dimensions of Body, Mind, Heart and Spirit.

The program at Years 9 and 10 needs to planned and developed differently due to the new horizontal structure to be implemented in 2023  and the further development of linking wellbeing and learning. This is a very exciting development in our wellbeing program and we look forward in further editions of the Marian of keeping you informed of our progress.

Brigidine Celebration Day

Our annual Brigidine Celebration Day is being planned as we speak and will be held on Thursday 1 September.  We look forward to giving you an overview of the day in the next edition of the Marian News.

Please note that parents are very welcome to come and join us for Mass at the beginning of this day.
