St A's Playgroup

Playgroup runs every Friday from 8.50-9.50 am in our Multi-purpose room located next to the Prep rooms and Fiona’s Place. We have gathered a wonderful group of mums and children and we welcome new families to join us also!

Next term we are excited to offer an additional playgroup day to accommodate the needs of our community! For anyone interested in joining our playgroup but has found that Fridays do not work for you please contact me at jmartin@safranksth.catholic.edu.au and let me know what days you are available - I will do my very best to select an additional day based on our communities response. Wishing everyone a relaxing and safe holiday break and we look forward to a wonderful Term 4 with lots of fun at St A’s Playgroup!

Grade 3/4 energy Warrior Winners

3/4T and 3/4R won the Energy Warrior challenge. Every time we left the classroom we made sure we turned off our lights, TV, and heater to save energy. This means we won a movie afternoon with popcorn!

School Hats

As part of our SunSmart policy hats are to be worn in Term 4. Please ensure that your child has their hat at school.  If you need to purchase a new one they are available at the office.

Sports Report

In this week’s Sports Report, we would like to recognise some amazing efforts from our students throughout Term 3.

Recently our Grade 5/6s attended the Bayside District Basketball Carnival at Frankston Basketball Stadium. We played 12 games throughout the day and we all had a great time supporting our teammates. Our Girl's team was able to finish 2nd in Division 1 and our Boy's team finished 1st overall and will attend the next Regional Division in Term 4.

In Rd 3 of the Staff v Students Championship, our ⅚ students took on the staff in a game of Netball. The staff led by Mr Todd and Miss Linnie proved far too strong in this game and have gone ahead 2-1 in the series. The next game will be in Term 4 where the students will look to use their advantage in a game of Touch Soccer on the Oval. Fire up Grade 6s!

To finish off the Term, we have had very exciting events to celebrate both Basketball & Football and showcase all of our talented students. Last Friday, we had our first St Augustine's Basketball Day and all students were able to wear their favourite basketball colours, jerseys, shoes and headbands. To celebrate the day, Mr Butland held a range of different Basketball clinics alongside the team from South East Magic. Everyone had a great day and it is safe to say our the future of Basketball is looking good at St A’s

Lastly, to finish off a busy term, we have had our annual St Augustine’s Footy Day on the last day of Term! In what has been a great year of Footy, it is awesome to have so many students excited to wear their footy colours and sing their footy songs! We are also very fortunate to have Bailey Dale (Western Bulldogs) & Kate Hore (Melbourne Demons AFLW) attend our parade and have a chat with all of our students. With so many good teams still in the finals, it is sure to be an exciting end to a very special AFL season.

We hope all of our St A’s sports stars have a great end to Term 3 and look forward to getting you all involved in many events planned over the next few weeks in Term 4.
