Subcommittees

Our Governing Council has the following subcommittees  to provide advice and assistance into providing the best for our students at LNPS: Finance, Top Shop, OSHC, Education, Sports, Fundraising and Grounds and Buildings.

Parent Network: Class Parent

The Education Committee of the Governing Council is inviting parents to join our Parent  Network of Class Parents. Information about the Parent Network is on the school website www.lnps.sa.edu.au.

It is the role of a Class Parent to:

1. liaise with the teacher about ways in which  parents can support class events and also learn and understand more about what happens in the classroom.

2. Promote opportunities for community networking between parents in that class.

3. share information with other parents of other classes in the school via the Parent Network meetings. (three or four per year).

Please complete the attached slip by Friday 7th March to the front office. One parent can nominate as parent rep for each Learning Area in which they have a child and indicate preference, if any. The aim is to have at least one parent nominated as parent rep for each LA. The final list of representatives will be collated by the Education Committee.

State Election Fundraising

On Saturday the 15th of March LNPS will be a polling place in this year’s State Election.  As part of our fundraising for 2014 we are holding a sausage sizzle and cake stall to raise funds for a new outdoor library lounge area. (on southern side of Tirkandi)

To make this a successful event we are asking for parents to volunteer an hour of their time to assist with the preparation and serving of the BBQ.  We are also asking for donations of cakes, slices or biscuits to sell on the day.

We also encourage you to come along and enjoy the BBQ!

Fundraising Meeting

The Fundraising Committee are meeting this Tuesday 25th of Feb at 7pm in the staff room at LNPS, we will be discussing ideas and planning our calendar for 2014.  We are an active group of parents who enjoy planning events to raise additional funds for our school which are used for special projects and equipment to benefit our children and their learning.  It is an extremely rewarding committee to be part and we have a lot of fun along the way.  We encourage you to come along for a Cuppa and Tim Tam!
