Assistant Principal's Report

Miss Carly Epskamp

I cannot believe this term is coming to an end and we will soon be moving into Term Four. 2022 is flying by!

Term Three Highlights

The highlights for me this term were celebrating 100 days of school with our gorgeous Prep students, watching classes do their Science experiments, reading some of the Level Six Launchpad stories and having the whole school participate in the Book Week Dress Up Day Parade. I watched children beam with pride and happiness at the these events and it's so special for them to share these experiences with their teachers and friends. What was your Term Three highlight? Please come to the office and share this information with us, we love seeing you!

Art Show

We are very excited that our Art Show is coming up on Thursday 6th October from 4:30pm - 6:30pm. Each child will have an artistic piece on display, so we'd love to see all families pop in at some stage. More information will follow on Compass.

Attendance

School attendance is still a concern for a small portion of DPS students.

Daily school attendance is important for young people to succeed in education and to ensure they don’t fall behind both socially and developmentally. Young people who regularly attend school and complete Year 12 or an equivalent qualification have better health outcomes, better employment outcomes, and higher incomes across their lives.

School participation is important as it maximises life opportunities for young people, by providing them with education and support networks. School helps people to develop important skills, knowledge and values which set them up for further learning and participation in their community.

Doncaster Primary School places great importance on all students being at school on time, every day to maximise opportunities.

We understand that sometimes getting your child to school may be difficult and the school is very happy to work with you to improve your child’s attendance. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact me on 9848 1122.

Term Three Holidays

A reminder that school will finish tomorrow at 2:15pm. Thank you to the families, students, teachers and ES staff of DPS for another wonderful term. You make this place GREAT!

Wishing all of our families a wonderful 2 week break. We hope you all take the opportunity to rest and recharge in preparation for Term Four.

Thanks for all of your support throughout this term.
