Principal's Report

As Term Three comes to a close, I would like to thank our school community, staff and students for all their hard work. The two-week holiday break will allow us to rest and refresh before a jam-packed Term Four.

Indeed, when students are well rested and refreshed, this helps to build their stamina to continue to thrive in their learning. Building stamina is significant now that we have returned to full-time face-to-face learning. This holiday period includes two Public Holidays,  namely the National Day of Mourning for Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday, September 22nd and the  AFL Grand Final Victorian holiday on September 23rd, which we hope will provide some valuable family time.

I am so pleased that we have been able to offer the students a range of educational experiences this Term. Some highlights include:

Dance Curriculum

100 Days of School

Book Week

Science Week

Wellbeing  Week

House Athletics

Division Athletics

The Way We Are- Movie Shoot

Students vs Teachers Soccer Match

Victorian State School Spectacular

Level 5 Sovereign Hill Excursion

As many of you know, the Victorian State School Spectacular made a triumphant return this year. This past weekend I had the privilege to watch our DPS students perform as dancers in this spectacular event. The dedication, commitment and stamina required are immense, but the hard work paid off as the show was hugely successful.

Congratulations to all the students who participated. You were amazing! We are very proud of your effort and your success. I hope this experience is a building block and confidence booster that will influence your lives in the future.

Please remember how much we value the partnership between home and school. DPS is your school and we see your involvement and participation in your child's education  integral to their success. As always, we encourage open communication with your child's teacher and my door is always open to support our DPS families on many levels.

I wish you all a safe and happy holiday. I look forward to seeing you in Term Four!

Warmest regards,

Larissa Vesdrevanis
