Science in Level 6

Term 3

Throughout Term 3, the Grade Sixes have had the privilege of working with Deakin Science Pre Service Teachers to learn about Chemical Sciences. The students have learnt about states and matter as well as solids, liquids and gases - how they behave in different ways and how they can change under different situations eg. heating and cooling. The students have also been conducting experiments which has led to promoting curiosity and discovery in science and encouraging them to be observant.

Science has been so fun because I've been able to work with different people from the other classes and I got to learn about solids, liquids and gases. We got to do really fun experiments about what we've learnt and we got to play fun games that taught us the difference between solids, liquids and gases. - Emma 6C

I enjoyed doing the experiments because I learnt different things especially about solids, liquids and gases. I liked learning about the different molecules in them and how they behave differently. - Diana 6P

My favourite part about science has been conducting the experiments and working with my friends. I have learnt that bicarbonate soda and vinegar react to each other and make carbon dioxide. - Chris 6J
