The Year 6 students have been having a fantastic time on camp at Woodman Point Recreation Camp. The damp weather definitely did not slow them down!
Camps help students to transition to independence as they explore the world in a new and exciting way. Independence also helps boost a child's self-esteem. Raising an independent child means teaching responsibility, encouraging exploration and providing a safe environment for a child to make decisions independently. Problem solving, team building actives, has built resilience and forged new friendships and consolidated others.
Woodman Point Recreation Camp has significant historical and cultural importance. The site was originally a quarantine station with the first buildings constructed in 1886 and more added in 1901.
The students embraced all challenges and rose to the occasion! Many children and staff will sleep well tonight!
