Dear Families
I trust the week has been kind to each of you.
Make sure you check out all areas of our newsletter each fortnight, it provides great insight into the happenings at Fatima. Our key updates are:
Another Author Visit - Harry Laing
On Wednesday September 14th (Week 10), we have another guest author coming to run writing workshops with our students. Harry Laing is a poet, children's author, creative writing teacher and comic performer. He will be performing his own poetry for the whole school and will run creative writing workshops with our Year 3 to 6 students. If you'd like to know more about Harry Laing and his publications, visit https://harrylaing.com.au/workshops/.
Emails
Emails are an important way for all of us to communicate and work in partnership. Please know emails will be sent by the Fatima staff between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday. Staff endeavour to respond in a timely manner and at their earliest convenience.
Father's Day Celebration - Friday 2nd September
The collective voice from our community informed us that the morning session before school with an egg and brekkie / muffin with outside games and classroom visit was the preference. Please refer to the Community Engagement section for further details.
National Vocations Awareness Week
Pleasse pray for Father John Paul and all our priests this week for their ministry and presense in our community. Also keep in your thoughts and hearts religious who do so much in pastoral care, education, health care and other ministries.
School Uniform
A friendly reminder that students need to wear the correct school socks (navy) and as well the school beanie, unless their team has won over the weekend! If your child is unable to wear the correct uniform a written note/email to the classroom is teacher is required.
Swimming 2023
Next year our Prep to Year 6 swimming program will take place in Term 4 instead of Term 2 at YAWA. We are most delighted with our request being met.
Here's to a great Whole School Athletics Day tomorrow - thanks Mr Koole for all your organising! We look forward to seeing those of you who can make it to cheer on our wonderful students. Rug up!
Go gently
Sarah McDermott :)
