Term 4 ....great achievements
Term 4 has definitely flown by this year. With Sports Day part 2, concert, Remembrance Day, Children's University Graduation, Year 6 High School visits, Preschool Transition visits, Preschool Graduation and tomorrow, Year 6 Graduation, it's hard to believe we were able to fit it all in!
Since joining the Para Vista community at the beginning of term 3, I have really enjoyed getting to know students, families and staff, as well as seeing some great learning opportunities that happen in our classes. We have been focusing on our school value of Respect and this has seen a greater awareness around how we demonstrate respect to ourselves, property and others. We have worked as a staff group to determine consistent directions for our students which have been included in our Site Improvement Plan for 2023. This will be shared with our families once it has been approved by Department for Education. I am excited about seeing this put into action to benefit the achievement of our students and support them in their learning journey.
Farewell
As we end the year, we farewell our year 6 students who are moving to high school and a handful of other students who are moving to other schools for 2023. We wish all of them well and hope that they take fond memories of Para Vista Primary School with them. We wish you all the best of luck for your new schooling journeys.
It is also the time of year where we farewell some of our staff who are moving on to new endeavours and challenges. We thank them all for their hard work and dedication to every student at Para Vista and wish them well for the future.
Thank you to.....
Lee Adams | Niki Burton | Olivia Radic | Taylor Cummings |

We are also saying "Good Luck" to Ann-Marie Tillett who is leaving us for 12 months to take on an exciting role at another preschool. We will miss Ann-Marie but look forward to seeing her back with us in 2024.
Finally I would like to farewell June Padmore who has announced her retirement. Aunty June has been at Para Vista since 2009 and has touched the lives of so many of our students and their families.
These are some of the students' messages that have been passed on to Aunty June...
"Thank you for all the support. I hope you have a good retirement."
"Thank you for being helpful to people. I hope you enjoy retirement and always remember us."
"Thank you for being so kind and caring towards all the students. I hope you enjoy your retirement. "
"Thanks for helping me with my anxiety and letting me go to the office if I needed."
"Thank you for helping me with learning support. We will miss you when you are gone."
"You are proud of us. You feel special to us."
"You are kind and encouraging."
"You’re the nicest in the world."
"I really liked having you in my life."
"We will miss you."
The words from our students really do sum up our feelings too. Aunty June, thank you for everything you have done here at Para Vista Primary School. You are special to every one of our students and families and we appreciate your support, wisdom and kindness. We hope your retirement is everything you want and more.
On behalf of our Leadership Team and the rest of the Para Vista staff, I'd like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a safe holiday break. We hope you enjoy spending time with family and we see everyone back relaxed and ready for new challenges in 2023.
Best Wishes,
Anita
