Principal's Message

 Dear Parents:

What a busy week we all had last week! The weekend was taken up by plenty of singing with New England Sings! Thank you to all the families involved with dropping their children off for the rehearsals and for coming and watching on the day.

Milson’s Island Camp:

Mrs Street, myself and the students all had a wonderful time at Milson Island earlier last week. We were mixed in with 120 students from schools from Sydney and out west. There were plenty of fish caught and the weather was kind to us.

Edward The Emu:

This Friday, November 4, all students will be heading to Capitol Theatre in Tamworth to watch the stage performance, Edward The Emu. The bus will be leaving just after 9am, as soon as the third bus drops the students off. If you usually drop your student off after this time, please arrange for an earlier drop off as we can’t wait for you. After the performance, we will head to the Tamworth Marsupial Park for lunch and play at the park there. Your child/ren will need their recess, lunch, a hat, drink bottle and their school bag for the trip. We will arrive back at school at approximately 3pm. If your child has not returned their permission notes this needs to be done tomorrow.

NECOM Visit:

Next Tuesday, November 8 we have a performance/workshop coming to our school from the Armidale Youth String & Wind Ensembles. They will arrive at here at approx. 9:30am to set up for a 9:45 – 10:30am performance. Our students will have their morning tea with the visitors before they depart for their next destination.

Fun Run:

Next Friday 11 November, all students will participate in the fun run. This involves students bringing their bike and helmets to school and riding Terrible Vale Road. Alternately, if your child/ren does not wish to ride their push bike, they can walk part of it. We are asking if there are any parents or family members that are willing to help out in any way during the morning, we would be extremely appreciative.

Mini Markets:

After the Fun Run and our lunch break on Friday 11 November, we will be holding our annual mini markets. This involves students getting in to groups and creating a market stall. Later this week, teachers will talk to the students about their stalls and who they would like to work with as well as things they might like to sell. All money raised will go towards our year 6 fundraising efforts. This is a really fun event that all students and teachers really look forward too!

Farm gate support program Hunter New England Local Health District:

Our team includes Peer support workers and Social workers. We travel to farms or meet people in their local area across the Hunter New England local health district. I have attached our flyer for the program. People can self-refer or be referred with their consent by calling 0477 322 851 or email HNELHD-FarmgateSupport@health.nsw.gov.au

Please pass this information on to anyone in the wider community that you feel may need this service at any stage.
