Year 7 & 8 News

Year 8 Camp
At the start of Term 4, our Year 8 students went on their second camp of the year, to Karoonda park. The students throughout the week battled the weather and other challenges to show great resilience. Whilst on camp, the students participated in white water rafting, team building games, horse riding as well as many other activities.
Tech School
The Year 7 students at Morwell attended an Industry Tech Taster at the Morwell Tech School. Students learnt about how technology is changing the world of work and discover why this matters to them. They rotated through three activities which exposed them to industry, changing technologies, and new ways of problem-solving. Students had a great day using state of the art technology and working together to solve real world problems.
Year 7 and 8 Attendance
As we head towards the end of the year, I would like to take this opportunity to promote attendance. Going to school every day is the single most important part of your child’s education. Students learn new things at school every day. Attending and participating in school will help your child develop important skills and knowledge to help them learn social and emotional skills, such as good communication, resilience and teamwork.
Children who attend school every day and complete Year 12 have:
* Better health
* Better job opportunities
* Higher income across their lives.
* There is no safe number of days for missing school.
Year 7 and 8 KPA (Kurnai Positive Acknowledgments)
Year 7 and 8 Students continue to lead the way across our campus with their record setting achievements of Positive Green Write ups. I would like to recognize that across Year 7 and 8, they continue to set Positive Chronicle entry records and I ask that you continue to congratulate your learner every night when they receive a Positive KPA from their teachers. Count of Positive KPA’s for each form group broken down into term and year.
