Croydon Hills Camping Program

The Croydon Hills Camp Program has been in full swing over the past fortnight. Our Year 4 students had a ball down in Mt. Eliza at Camp Manyung with many students sharing the highlight of the trip was going to the top of the Giant Swing.

Our Junior School students also started their Camp Experience last week with the Year 2 students having a sleepover at school on Thursday. They had a pizza dinner together, followed by a magic show by Rick the Magician. The following day they experienced a range of typical camp activities at school ranging from team building activities to mini beast hut building down at Yarrunga.

Our Year 1 students also had a full day of Camp-like activities on school on Friday.  Some of their experiences included a scavenger hunt and a movie in their sleeping bags.

The Year 5s are currently at Camp Coonawarra in East Gippsland, experiencing their first Camp.  The CHPS Facebook page has shared a range of photos and videos of the experiences they are having.

Finally, later in the term our Prep students will have a Camp Day at school.

A huge thank you to the staff who have given up their personal time to make these experiences happen. Also to the parents and carers who have volunteered to help out, the camping program cannot run without your support!

Year 6 Art Project

Each year our graduating Year 6 students give back to Croydon Hills P.S. by working on a collaborative Art Project. You can see years of these artworks scattered around the school through the birches, on the sides of buildings and even on the ground out the front of the Art Room.

This year the students have started their design and painting of ‘Moodonna’.  Later this year Moodonna will move from the Art Room to take pride of place on the farm.  I can’t wait to see the finished product!
