As a catholic community we reflect and acknowledge All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.
All Saints' Day is celebrated on Tuesday the 1st of November This is an opportunity for us as people of faith to honour all saints, known and unknown. All Saints' Day is celebrated globally and is a time to reflect and remember all of the Spirit-filled people who have dedicated their lives in the service of others. We pay our respect to these incredible people and also recognise those saints who have no special feast days of their own.
The Church celebrates those Christians who achieved spiritual maturity. It is a day to remember all the holy men and women who have been canonized by the Church
On Wednesday the 2nd of November, the Catholic Church acknowledges All Souls' day. This day is also known as the Commemoration of all the faithful departed and the day of the dead. It is a day of prayer and remembrance for the faithful departed. It is a time to remember our family and friends who are no longer with us and take the opportunity to spend time in prayer acknowledging our loved ones who have departed.
As a school community our learners will have the opportunity to reflect, acknowledge and document there thinking about various saints. Saints such as St Francis of Assisi for his love of animals and all creation. Mother Teresa for her devotion to the poor and sick and homeless. and Mary Mackillop caring for orphans, the homeless and the poor.
This Friday, the Year 3/4 students in Graham Troy’s class will be leading us in prayer. Their prayer celebration will focus on the celebration of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.
Thank you and have a great week,
