Camps and Excursions

Y5/6 Sovereign Hill Camp

In Week 10 of Term 3, our Year 5/6 students will be departing on an interstate adventure to Ballarat's Sovereign Hill. This camp is designed to enhance the history aspect of the HASS curriculum. Students will be immersed in The Australian Gold Rush and will experience what life was like for Australians and immigrants alike.

Most parents/caregivers paid the deposit of $40, so the remainder of $359 for this camp is due at the end of Week 5 (25th August), no additional invoice will be sent for this payment. It is essential that payment is made on time as bookings for transport need to be finalised.

Thank you for the generous offers of support. We have confirmed with the parents who will be attending with our Fisher Team - Mike Tarleton, Jonathon Lamb, Trent Clayton, Nat Brook, Michelle Harous and Kim Martin.

Once numbers are confirmed, we will distribute a pack of information regarding what to bring, transport times and itinerary. We are excited and can't wait to share this unique experience together.

Y7 Douglas Scrub

In Week 4 of Term 3, our Year 7 students will be taking part in the Outdoor Education experience. The camp will be conducted at Douglas Scrub, with activities being run onsite and in Kuitpo Forrest by Wilderness Escape Outdoor Adventures (WEOA), in partnership with Lockleys North Primary School.

The programme is designed to utilise the features of the unique natural environment to present students with some challenging, exciting and worthwhile learning experiences in the outdoors. The camp introduces students to a range of recreational activities, whilst encouraging them to develop positive relationships with themselves, classmates, teachers, and the natural environment.

Students will be working in 4 small groups for the duration of the camp whilst they rotate through a range of activities. Further information regarding the camp structure and activities can be found in the Camp Booklet, available for download via the Wilderness Escape dedicated Camp Webpage (see login details below).

Experienced and qualified staff from Wilderness Escape Outdoor Adventures will conduct activities during the camp, whilst school staff will accompany each group.

Overnight supervision is coordinated by school staff, with assistance from on-site Wilderness Escape instructors.
