Reflection

Reflection

Reflection is an important part of the learning process.

Reflection is when students look at what is happening now and work towards taking the next steps to improve their learning in the future.

Students are encouraged to reflect and identify their learning strengths and weakness, monitor their learning and set personal learning goals for improvement. This may occur in many different ways including daily conversations about learning intentions and success criteria, written learning journals and meetings.

Students will work on developing reflection skills in the early years using scaffolds.

Student reflection provides feedback to teachers and assists them to adjust their teaching approach, consider the needs in learning spaces, adjust their teaching practise and cater for individual learning needs.

These pictures include different purposes and ways for students to reflect on their learning. Circle time provides an opportunity for students to develop social skills, reflect on and share their learning with peers.
