Mission Action Day: Fundraising for Those in Need

The figure as of last Tuesday was $93,000+.  Can I take this opportunity to thank all students and families for your generous and wonderful support.  Many individual students raised outstanding amounts and made an excellent effort to support this worthwhile cause.  The money raised supports the following:-

• Lasallian Foundation                       $30,000
• PNG-Hohola School                         $20,000
• Thailand Outreach Programme  $20,000
• Indian Outreach Programme       $10,000+

Specifically, the Parents and Friends Association and the Old Collegians Association were generous in their support.  Our 2017 College Leaders showed wonderful Leadership and determination in pursuing a high total.

Study Skills

Recently the Year 9, 10 and 11 students had excellent sessions on study skills / planning and note taking.  Students in Years 9-12 should be doing regular and consistent home study at least 4 times a week.  Suggested home study programme:

• Year 9 - 1.5 hours x 4
• Year 10 - 1.5 hours x 4
• Year 11 - 2 hours x 4 (minimum)
• Year 12 - 3 hours x 6

Encouraging: - It is pleasing to see the number of students working together before and after school.

Parents & Students

Students leaving the College grounds early for any reason must swipe out through the Student Services office and have a valid note or through the student absentee line (9582 5983) in order to obtain a ticket to leave the College grounds.

Parents no longer sign their sons out.  This is now the student's responsibility.
