Year 9 Home Group Resilience Activities
Year 9 students continue to engage in weekly Resilience activities in Home Group.
The resilience activity topic for this week is EMPATHY......
Empathy is the ability to recognize and consider the feelings of another person.
When we put ourselves in another person’s shoes, we can be more sensitive to what that person is experiencing and react in a way that is supportive.
Home Group Task;
- Why is empathy important?
- What does it mean to put yourself in someone else’s shoes?
- Can you think of an example of a situation where a student may need empathy?
- What kinds of behaviors show that you understand someone’s feelings?
The main part of this week’s activity was to involve students exploring small scenarios and discussing the emotions of the people in the situation.
