Mt Lilydale Mercy College Netball Match

On Thursday 1 September the EIS Netball teams visited Mt Lilydale Mercy College to play a practice match.

From the moment we arrived the teams were super excited to take to the court and play their best netball.

The A team had a slow start with a few costly turnovers and poor passing. However, to their credit, they worked extremely hard to fight their way back to win by a goal. All 9 players contributed positively throughout the game and showed positive encouragement towards each other.

The B team had a really good start shooting some long range shots and applying great defensive pressure. However, the girls were challenged for the rest game as Mt Lilydale really stepped up and ended up winning quite convincingly. The girls never gave up, they always worked as a team and showed a consistent level of skill.

Both teams represented the school to the highest standard, demonstrating true sportsmanship by encouraging each other and always respecting the umpires. Well done to the EIS netballers on such an amazing afternoon.

Yarra Group Athletics

On Tuesday 6 September, 80 students represented Lilydale High School at the Yarra Group Athletics Carnival. In fantastic conditions, our athletes excelled and produced some fantastic individual results across all events.

Lilydale High School was dominant on the day winning 4 of the 6 relay races and placing in the remaining two.

At the end of the day we came away with all four plaques, winning the junior, intermediate and senior age groups and taking out the overall win for the day.

All athletes who competed should be commended for their efforts on the day and we look forward to the qualifiers representing Lilydale High School at the Eastern Region carnival on Friday 7 October.
