2017 VET

Students who selected a VET subject for 2017 will receive a VET information package in the mail at the start of Term 4.

The VET information package will include a course confirmation letter, application form and will indicate the material fees payable to Lilydale High School.

The VET materials fee is payable to Lilydale High School by December 2, 2016.

Students will not be enrolled in a course until the application forms have been fully completed and materials fees have been paid.

VTAC Applications

APPLY BY - SEPTEMBER 29

Year 12 students who are applying for post-secondary education at University or TAFE in 2017 will need to create an account by going to www.vtac.edu.au. They can then select up to 8 course preferences and will be able to pay the administration fee online ($32 for timely applications).

Students are reminded to apply by September 29 (5.00 pm) to avoid late fees ($100 for late applications and $130 for very late applications).

Once students have applied they have the option of changing their course preferences until December 20 (12 noon).

Students are reminded that the Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) closes on October 4 (5 pm) and scholarships close on October 14 (5 pm).

We encourage all Year 12 students who wish to apply to tick the Category 1 – Personal information and location box on their SEAS application.

Some courses with folios or interviews may close early and it is ultimately the applicants responsibility to check all submission and application dates listed on VTAC.

Programming Robots

Deakin University’s new Software Engineering Course may be for you!

Robots are the future and it won’t be long until robots are a normal part of our day-to-day lives. But have you ever thought about how these smart robots will be created? Who will create them? That’s where Deakin comes in.

Deakin now offers a software engineering course with a difference. An innovative course unlike any other, that focuses on creating the smart software and systems of the future.

Using the skills acquired throughout the course, graduates could be developing the next smart car, the next smart watch or a new form of artificial intelligence.

From Trimester 1 2017, students will be able to study the four year Bachelor of Software Engineering (Honours) at the Melbourne Burwood or Cloud campuses.
