What is your new role at BHCS and what you are excited about this year?
I am exited to be joining the BHCS team in 2019 to teach Primary Art. I have recently qualified as a teacher, but have worked at BHCS before with the education support staff in the senior school. I feel very blessed to be returning to such a nurturing school community in such a spectacular environment. I am very exited about my new role as an Art teacher, not only because I love making art with children and seeing their wonderful creations, but because I am passionate about the importance of arts education to enhance learning in other areas, develop cognitive skills, visual literacy, creative thinking and problem solving skills.
What did you do previously?
I am a mum of four school age children, who love making creative messes of all sorts. Prior to children I studied Visual Arts, specialising in ceramics and photography and have worked in both these areas. I also love drawing, painting, printmaking, paper craft, upcycling furniture, scavenging op shops for bargains and gardening.
What do you like to do for fun?
I am really looking forward to working with your children, and providing them with enjoyable visual art experiences that develop their creativity.
