YALP

Literacy & Numeracy Intervention Program
Our intervention program assists students who have difficulty with their numeracy or literacy skills at Shepparton High School. The program is staffed by an intervention Coordinator and four tutors.
The numeracy tutors are Devon Hellyer and Jasmine Wright and our literacy tutors are Julie Forster and Letitia Bryan.
Devon, Jasmine, Julie and Letitia will assist within the classroom setting but will also work individually with students that have been identified as needing extra assistance with their literacy or numeracy skills.
Jasmine
Our tutors are trained to use the YALP approach when working individually with selected students regularly on a 10 minute withdrawal schedule. This is based on the best practice method to accelerate students who have gaps in their learning to catch them up.
Letitia
We are currently gathering number fluency and literacy assessment data for Year 7 and 8 students and all students in years 7 to 10 will be taking an online English and Maths diagnostic test over the coming weeks. From this data, students will be selected to be part of the 10 min program.
Please contact me on 58 214322 if you would like your child to be involved in the program as places are strictly limited.
