Anaphylaxis - Back to School

Make sure you or your allergic child has two EpiPen®s that are in date. Some EpiPen® Jrs expired in December.

 

Make sure the school is aware of allergies and that they know what to do in an emergency. ASCIA has some great information about what to expect from schools.

Think about how you or your child will avoid triggers at school, whether it’s food, insects or anything else. Has anything changed since last year regarding how you should deal with this?

 

Make sure you’re familiar with the latest ASCIA Action Plans and that you or your child has checked in with your GP about their allergy within the past year. If not, we recommend booking a follow-up appointment.

 

Practise what to do in an emergency With sensible allergy precautions, going to school can be fun and relaxing for everyone.
