Wellbeing Spotlight: Year 5/6 Community

In Term Four, the Year 5/6 Learning Community will be focusing on enabling students to manage the use of social media to maintain privacy needs. For example activating privacy settings to avoid divulging personal data such as photographs, addresses and names. Students will also focus on applying safe practices while participating in online environments.

Term Four will see students in Year 5/6 work through strategies to help relieve any anxieties that might come from transition into high school as well as sessions based on resilience and maintaining positive friendships.

Kinder Visits at Dobson

Siena Azzopardi: On the 20th September, Daniel, Brayden, Patrick and myself went to Dobson Kindergarten. As soon as we got there a little girl named Nika came up to me and asked to play. Nika was beautiful and super sweet. We started to play with a little toy dice rolling back and forth. Then Nika and I started to draw on a white board, after that three other super cute girls came up to us named Ava, Nora and Matilda. We played hide and seek it was super fun. We kept moving around to play different things like playing outside. I felt like I was at kinder again, playing with play-doh, playing hide and seek, it was the best day of my life. I hope one of the girls will be my buddy next year.

Patrick: When we got there we had to sign to go to meet people who are in kinder. When we first got inside we were really shy but when we met more and more people we started to get the hang of playing with children. My favourite child was Johnny, Johnny was a fun and cool kid, Brayden and I liked him a lot so we played with him more than all of the other kids. After 10:30 we had to go back to school, so we said goodbye to them then went to the car and drove back to school.

Daniel: On Friday, we visited Dobson Kindergarten to play with the kids and get to know each other. We first got into Miss Anderson's car and drove off to the Kinder and signed into the visitor booklet. Then we played with the lovely children there. I played with Elsie and Edward. We then got to play in the beautiful sunshine and attended obstacle courses. We said goodbye to the kids and drove off.

Brayden: We went inside and got ready to meet the little ones. We started hanging out with them and it was really fun. It was great to see what the future of Corpus Christi holds and we cannot wait to see some of them in our primary school. They all were having fun and were enjoying themselves. I really hope to see them at our school next year. I can’t wait to have a buddy next year and I hope I get somebody like Johnny, he was so funny.
