Thank you to all parents who have registered their children for the upcoming cricket season. We are still chasing at least three players for our second U15 (year 9) team. If your children have friends who haven’t yet registered or have friends who would like to play, please contact Suzie Zuber (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Two full teams will ensure all players will have more opportunities during the season compared to a single team where rotations of games may have to be implemented. We have also re-opened registrations for the U11 and U13 age groups, so if your children have had a last-minute change in mind at the end of the football season, please contact Suzie.
A reminder that the U13 and U14 age groups will be undergoing a grading session tomorrow at the Ray Owen Reserve practice nets from 9 – 11am. Coaches will run drills for all players, so it would be great if they could come along – it will also be an early opportunity for players and parents to meet the coaches prior to the Season Launch (and season proper).
Coaches of all age groups are also welcome to come along and collect their team kit for the upcoming season.
The 2019/20 Season Launch will be held on Wednesday 25th September at Ray Owen Reserve (5 – 7pm). This is a great opportunity for players to meet their coaches, and for any new members to the club to meet the committee who will be happy to answer any queries. A sausage sizzle and drinks will be provided.
The South-East Metropolitan Junior Cricket Council (SEMJCC) will be holding an umpiring workshop on Friday the 27th of September 2019 from 6:30pm-8:00 pm in Kim Hughes room at the WACA. The workshop will be conducted by the SEMJCC Umpires mentor Tom Stephenson, with Daniel Gibbons being the guest speaker and the attendance of some senior and premier cricket umpires as well. Any junior cricketers interested in umpiring are welcome to attend and/or contact Yash Gandhi at the SEMJCC for further information (Yash.Gandhi@waca.com.au).
Scorers Information Night
The club will be hosting an information session on Wednesday 16th October from 7pm to go through the new MyCricket scoring app. This will particularly useful for managers, coaches and those volunteers who want to help out with scoring during games for the upcoming season.
An opportunity has become available to join our committee (Assistant Secretary) for the upcoming season. The role description can be found on the club website (see below). Please contact President Neil Warden (email@example.com) for further information.
