Stage 3 Virtual Excursion to Canberra
As excursions are impossible at the moment, we didn’t want our Stage 3 students missing out on the wonderful educational institutions and attractions.
Thanks to DART Learning, we were lucky to secure live tickets to all the Canberra Virtual Excursions.
Students will have an opportunity to explore Australia’s identity through discussion and object interpretation relevant to key moments and events in Australia’s history.
Students can take a short tour through the galleries, see items from the National Collection, hear stories of men and women who have served for Australia, and explore the Commemorative Area.
Students will explore the National Museum of Australia’s collection, to discover key figures and events related to Australia’s unique History.
Stage 3 will also explore historical spaces in the heritage building, including the two chambers of Parliament, and allow students to interact with presenters to develop their understanding of how we can all have our say and make a difference.
Students will learn about our minting process, from a coin’s initial design all the way through to shipping it off to a bank.
Also students will explore the 6 million parts that make up a plane and learn skills in how to think, make, try and refine your paper plane to influence its flight and aerodynamics.
