From the Principal

We would like to acknowledge the original custodians of this land

and pay our respects to the Elders both past, present and future

for they hold the memories, the traditions, the culture and hopes of Indigenous Australia.

Dear Families

At the time of writing this newsletter we are no clearer to the return to school for all students.  We can only hope in anticipation that the road map will be clear with a focus on a return to some normality.  As I reflect over the last ten weeks of this term it has become evident that there have been a number of characteristics  that have now become part of our repertoire and every day life:  persistence, assurance, affirmation, cautiousness, disappointment, tiredness, frustration, stamina and I am sure that there are many more.

As staff, students and families end this term there still has been so much to celebrate and give thanks for.  Activities have been completed - well almost; meetings have been held online to keep the classes together, PSGs have taken place and many other tasks.  The momentum has kept going throughout the term and on behalf of the staff we thank you for working alongside us.   We can all take a deep breath and relax somewhat knowing that as of today some restrictions have been eased.

Staff News

I wish to advise you that Ms Linzi Canavan will be finishing at our school tomorrow, Friday 17 September 2021, to begin her Maternity Leave.

On your behalf, I thank Ms Canavan for her persistent work and dedication that she has shown towards the children in the class throughout the year.  Her commitment to teaching the children in class and during Distance Learning must be commended as she has ensured that all children were supported and engaged in their activities.

Unfortunately, the current circumstances haven’t allowed for a proper farewell but as soon as it is possible we will organise for this to take place.

Ms Canavan Thank you!

Yoga

The students had so much fun last Friday when Samir  Raner hosted the live online Yoga sessions as part of our RUOK? day.  Thank you to all the children who participated.

Stay well and take the time to breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the Spring sunshine.
