4/5/6 are Out of This World

We have been so busy in th 4/5/6 remote learning space. We are very proud of what the students have been working on and how they have managed the continued changing due date to return.

In literacy we have been consolidating students understanding the 'Literacy Circles' , through various readings  related to our inquiry on History and Geography. In addition, students have working on ways to be  improve their descriptive writing with figurative language. Furthermore, in mathematics we have been working on multiplication and division strategies through the lense of data and probability, not to mention, working on our understanding of working on the Cartesian Plane.

Artes Escénicas(Performing Arts)

F/1: We have had so much fun online, learning about Pasado y Presente (Past and Present) through Drama. We have cherished in sharing our memories and special toys/objects from our past and present. I have enjoyed watching the F/1s bailar (dance) in our live check ins! It's been great seeing the energy and their memory of the dance choreography come to life! We had a blast taking funny screenshots of ourselves online! GRACIAS FAMILIAS FOR COLLABORATING SO BEAUTIFULLY ON ALL ACTIVITIES! Keep it up remotely this term! Gracias! Srta Laura :)

2/3: We have had so much online, using Drama to learn more about our Inquiry, Una cultura, dos culturas, mi cultura (One culture, two cultures, my culture). I have enjoyed seeing your freeze frames and moving improvisations of cultural stories! I especially enjoyed you all challenging me to guess which story you created through freeze frames! GRACIAS FAMILIAS FOR COLLABORATING SO CREATIVELY ON ALL ACTIVITIES! It's been great seeing the enthusiasm and movement memory of dances during our live check ins! Keep it up remotely this term! 4/5/6: We have had so much fun online, incorporating our Inquiry 'What influences have affected Australia and the Globe?' through Drama. I have really enjoyed your sound scapes of images from migration stories. I especially enjoyed your monólogos (monologues) this week! What amazing personajes (characters) you all created, showing reasons why they migrated from a particular country. You all put in a lot of effort in dressing up with costumes, props, some even digitally creating the scene and personajes (characters) with toys/objects. You have really impressed me and have shown to grow and express yourselves emotionally, physically and by being excellent communicators; our keystone focus this term. A lot of your monologues, freeze frames and mini plays, have been published to the 4/5/6 blog on Seesaw, so please check these out! We had a great time taking fun screenshots of ourselves online! Spectacular update: Unfortunately, due to lockdown and restrictions, Spectacular 2021 show has had to be cancelled this year. All Spectacular Mass Dancers have worked so hard and showed immense effort in attending rehearsals twice a week, including via Teams during lockdown! I am so proud with each and every one of our Spectacular group! They showed resilience when I broke down the news on Monday afternoon. 

I am still so impressed by how well Spectacular dancers took the news, better than I did when I received the email! We even discussed other possible shows we could do next term, where all dance choreography's can be performed:

  • Soiree @ Coburg High with Choir and Band too (restrictions dependant)
  • End of year show case
  • Year 6 Graduation
  • Dance and Music collaboration show case
